My apologies for my absence over the last 2 weeks but today I’m back with the what and why I love food so much. Today I’m reminiscing about my childhood food memories which probably contributed to my love of food today.

Podcast # 5 - Understanding the Australian lingo

podcast-05

I thought it might be a good opportunity to share some of the ‘lingo’ (language) and most common used terms we use here in Australia. Even though there are so many countries in the world that speak “English”, we all have different terms for words in our everyday lives.

Podcast # 4 - I got a PAID job!

podcast-04

Welcome to this week’s podcast, “I got a PAID job!”. Notice the emphasis on the word paid. Sometimes being a stay at home Mum can be a thankless, tiring position but a rewarding one. I’ve had a couple paid, evening jobs since the children were born but other than this small part time job, I’ve always been a stay at home mum. The best job in the world. Today I’m telling you all about what it is and what other part time jobs I’ve had since the children were born.

I’ve also included the typed transcript for this podcast, if you’d like to read it.

Podcast # 3 - Back to School + a Special Guest

3-podcast-back-to-school-special-guest

Welcome to my third podcast, “Back to School + a Special Guest”. This coming week, the children return to school for another year after a very long summer break. As much as I miss the rush of getting them off to school each morning, I miss the routine that comes with school life. I’ll be touching on a typical school day for my children here in Queensland and the usual hurdles us Mums have to jump each school day with uniforms, food and routine.

I have a very special guest appearance on the podcast today. I hope you enjoy it.

Podcast # 1 - Welcome & About Me

1-podcast

Welcome to my very first podcast. I’ve never done it before so it was all very much a learning experience. It’s not as easy as I thought it would be. I had a few notes to prompt me but to be honest, I don’t normally need much prompting to talk. Once I get started, you usually can’t shut me up. Anyway, I thought it would be another way of communicating with my followers. So much can be learnt from the spoken word, especially somebody from another country. I love hearing how other people talk and I hope you won’t find my voice too annoying. I rambled on a bit and said a few ‘umms’ and ‘ahhs’ but I hope, with practice, I can become more fluent and, hopefully, interesting.

I have heaps to tell you. Things like how to be frugal, how to keep on top of your housework, how to cook from scratch and how to pick up a bargain or two. There’ll be heaps of homemaking advice and some wise words I’ve learnt from my parents and grandparents.

Also, if there’s anything you’d like to know about anything, please comment below and I’ll be sure to answer you in my next podcast. Oh, and big thanks to my lovely husband for helping me with the podcast recording. I’m lucky that he’s a musician and has all the recording equipment and software in his recording studio for me to use. Just don’t ask me to play any instruments while I’m recording the podcasts!

Hope you enjoy! Until next week…
