As you’re all aware, I was married on the 12th of September, just over a week ago and I wanted to share the full story of the wedding, not missing a single detail. It’ll be a couple weeks until we get all the wedding photos back from the photographer but in the meantime, these are a few photos we took while myself and the bridesmaids were getting ready at one of my favourite places, Milque Spa.

I first discovered Milque Spa in Capalaba when I won a competition for a day spa voucher which I used for my birthday last year. I took my sister and a couple of my closest friends for a morning of high tea and pampering. It then became my regular hairdresser and my favourite place to forget about the outside world.

My ‘now’ husband bought me a spa treatment voucher for Christmas last year and I enjoyed a day of pampering before we went on our mini staycation to Surfers Paradise earlier this year, when ironically, he proposed. It was only fitting that Milque Spa be the place I chose to get my bridal hair and makeup done.

There is a gorgeous room out back all set up for the bridal party to enjoy a few snacks and relax before getting ready. The room was aglow with scented candles and was so relaxing. Perfect to settle any pre-wedding nerves.

There’s a gorgeous chaise longue full of beautiful cushions. The above photo shows the bouquets I made for the bridal party. I’m so glad I opted for artificial flowers because they were ready months ago. It was one less thing I had to worry about the day before the wedding. Fresh flower wedding bouquets were just way too expensive and not in the budget.

Believe it or not, this cute little pearl handbag belongs to my daughter. (I think it really belongs to her step mum or step sister but she let me borrow it for the day.) It was perfect to hold all my bits and pieces, lipstick and money to pay the spa.

I wore one of my all time favourite fragrances “Romance” by Ralph Lauren. I actually picked it up months ago on sale and kept it for the special day.

Make up done, just relaxing.
I don’t drink alcohol anymore so there was just lemonade in the champagne glass.

My matron of honour. I’ve known this girl since the day she was born. She soon became like a sister to me when she spent a lot of time with us growing up. My Mum babysat her and her older sister for many years.
We saw her grow up into a wonderful woman, mother and wife and so proud of how far she has come and how successful she’s become as a career woman. It was only fitting that I have her by my side in the bridal party. She was like another daughter to my Mum and did so much for her. My Mum thought of her as a daughter and she thought of my Mum as her own.

The bridesmaids and yes, my stepdaughter is very tall for a 13 year old.
The junior bridesmaids.
I was very impressed with how Jemma did my hair. Beautiful curls at the back.
Putting the finishing touches to the hair. My makeup was done by Tara who is a wonderful and extremely qualified beautician.

I was extremely happy with my hair and makeup. My hair stayed in place all day and my makeup stayed on too. If you’re looking for bridal hair and makeup places, I highly recommended Milque Spa. Not only for that but for all your beauty and spa treatments. I can’t wait to get back there for a trim with Jemma.
