Thriving on Thursdays - Linky Party # 92

Domesblissity

Welcome to Thursday and another Thriving on Thursdays linky party! This Saturday my baby girl turns 9. Call me a bad Mum but I'm breaking with tradition and not making birthday cupcakes for school. I got to thinking that it's totally unnecessary and a relatively new tradition that wasn't around when I was a kid. My son's birthday is also in November and I swear my oven never got turned off. I baked 30 cupcakes for school, a cake for the actual birthday and a cake for the party. That's just outrageous and no wonder I booked myself into the loony bin on the 30th November these last 6 years. The kids were a little disappointed at first when I told them but they're okay with it now. They really don't miss out. Anyway, hope you're all having a good week and Christmas and Thanksgiving preparations are coming along nicely. Here's my top 3 food and non food related posts from last week.

  1. Hey Anne,
I'm a Nov baby too.. I hear you about the cupcakes. I was so happy that some of the teachers starting having a monthly birthday celebration. Everyone who has a kid with a birthday in that month would send something in for the party. It didn't have to baked goods. This way the kids get to celebrate at school and they aren't eating cupcakes everyday of the month. Food for thought.
    Thanks for another lovely party.
