Gone are the days when the tinsel is meticulously placed on the tree, styled to match the different coloured baubles. Now it’s all about putting anything anywhere and that’s the way I like it.
In between school and kindy finishing and going on vacation, we managed to put our tree up on the 1st of December and I let the kids go for it on their own. We use a plastic tree that’s been in my little family just before the kids were born and it’s just a nice size. I can remember when the kids were first crawling, we used to put it inside a playpen.
This is the angel my daughter crafted this year at school.
Another handcrafted decoration by my daughter.
Snoopy’s a big favourite of ours as are anything to do with dogs and Mickey of course for the kids.
And who can forget Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo? Don’t even ask. My (now ex) husband is a fan of any cartoon show, be it for adults or kids.
I can’t wait for Christmas morning when the tree will have the kid’s Christmas sacks full of presents underneath it, not a lot but just a few little things I’ve picked up for them over the year.
