Coming in 2012 - THRiVING @ Domesblissity

Coming in 2012, THRiVING or Thrifty Living @ domesblissity

THRiVING (or Thrifty Living) will be a feature on the domesblissity blog in 2012. A feature where I will share with you how I've learned to live and survive on one income since I had the children. How I've become the "Queen of Make-do" in my family's eyes and seemingly make something out of nothing most times. How we scrimp and save on the everyday things so we can still enjoy some of the finer things in life like holidays, good food and other little treats.

Even before marriage, the children and times when I lived on my own, I always followed this way of life, learning how to THRiVE and SURViVE on what I had available to me. Fruit and vegetables in season, following a budget, setting financial goals, learning to sacrifice and live without certain things for a while but still enjoying the good life.

I guess I take it all for granted, what I do, day in, day out. And it may very well be common knowledge for most people but for those who may not have heard any of these ideas before or if one of my blog posts about THRiVING can help just one person, I'm more than willing to share. It's not 'rocket science', just stuff that's been handed down to me through the generations and things I've observed and picked up over the years. There are way more talented and knowledgeable people on the Internet than I who are opting for a more simpler way of life but this is the way I do it.

I'll feature posts based on particular themes each month, for example, in January, I'll feature a few ideas for "Back to School" hints. Admittedly, January is the time when Australian children head back to school after summer break.

I'll continue with my regular daily posts and might even have a weekly linky party so my followers can share their tips, recipes, crafts and/or blog posts.

More information to come.

  1. Oh, I'm so looking forward to this series. I'm always up for learning to money-saving tips. Since I'm still "in between" jobs, I've had to learn the hard way to make a dollar stretch further than it did in the past. Besides that, I like saving so I can really enjoy holidays, too... :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
