Disney on Ice "Worlds of Fantasy" - Review

Another great family event today and that was Disney on Ice “Worlds of Fantasy” show at the Boondall Entertainment Centre. Both kids were so excited. Only my daughter had ever been to this venue before and that was when she was about 2 years old to see “The Wiggles”.

A huge crowd and we basically arrived and had a few minutes to find our seat and the show started. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy all came out in a little car to start and then the car broke down. They needed a tow truck and who better to call then old Mater from “Cars” followed by Sally and Lightning McQueen himself. This was an absolute highlight for my 4 year old son. He was beside himself. The cars looked so real with moving eyes and were basically like real cars. They weren’t really on long enough though.

“The Little Mermaid” characters followed and this was also really excellent. Then characters from “The Lion King” followed by a short intermission. My kids were ready to go by this stage. The characters from “Tinkerbell” then finished the show. The whole show as just amazing. Near faultless ice skating, tremendous feats of skill and talent, excellent choreography, costumes just out of this world. A first class production.

Quite expensive though for most people. At around AUD$200 for average priced tickets for a family of four (we were very lucky my in laws bought our tickets) and then don’t forget to take out a personal loan before you go if you want to pick up a couple souveniers. They had some really cool, ‘different from the norm’ stuff but way out of our budget. We did succumb to picking up a cup each for the kids that were pretty fancy and will get used every day. (For $16 each mind you, filled with crushed iced and flavoured syrup.)

A great family day out and a show worth seeing. A little bit long for a 4 year old boy like mine though.
