This week, I'm grateful for...winter in Brisbane

I'm a born and bred Queenslander, living here most of my life, and compared to a lot of places in the world, we really do enjoy lovely winter weather. This week has been exceptionally cold and although I've whinged and whined about it, I enjoy the fact that I was able to wear a scarf and gloves for the first time in I don't know how long. The best things I'm grateful for winter in Brisbane are:

  • being able to snuggle with my husband and kids without feeling sweaty, hot and sticky
  • hot, hearty, healthy comfort food made with economical, seasonal, cheap ingredients
  • able to wear the scarf that belonged to my Dad which he had since he was a young boy in Latvia
  • appreciate the warmer, sunnier winter days when we have bitterly cold ones.

I'm linking up with Maxabella Loves for her regular weekly 'grateful' feature.

  1. So crazy that it is winter where you are! It's summer and almost 100 degrees here. I like your list of positive things you like about winter :-) I love ice skating so jealous you can go right now!
