All was going well. We were running on time for school drop-off, Ben was still a bit 'under the weather' so was staying home from Kindy and we were off to collect our grocery shopping. I just popped to the toilet before we went when I heard hysterical 'banshee' screaming coming from the living room. It was Ben. He had something in his eye, heaven forbid! I thought he was dying. He came to me, on the toilet, as they do, and no way would he let me look at his eye. I thought he had glass in it the way he was carrying on.
To cut a long story short, let's just say he continued with that behaviour in the car, at school, in the class room, back to the car and I was beside myself. I just remained calm and explained we had to go to the Doctor. I was lucky our local Doctor was able to see him. He put on his 'magic' glasses, opened his eye and whatever was in there just flicked out. All was good. Mum had aged about another 10 years by this stage and we continued on our journey to collect the groceries, stopping at McDonalds for pancakes and a coffee and then home, having a good old laugh at "na na na... (insert "Batman" song) Fatman". Oh my goodness! What a morning!
If I didn't love these two cheeky bums with all my heart and soul, who knows? I could be half way to North Queensland by now!
Aww... wish you had a better day. That photo is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks Megan. Today is a great day. He's at Kindy. (It wasn't that bad, really, looking back. Just moments of it but I can look back and laugh. Must mean I'm getting slightly better at this crazy rollercoaster ride of motherhood? LOL)
