Housework, Rhythm & Blues and Masterchef

Monday is housework day and I blitzed through it in record time today. You wouldn't think I was capable after waking feeling sore all over. I was trying to work out what I was sore from and then I realised it was all the rockin' and rollin' I did on Saturday night! Boy! What a night. My husband and I thought we were 21 again and really paid for it on Sunday morning. He got out of it easy and rested nicely all day on the couch while I had to take 'the boy' to a 4 year old "Lion King" birthday party. I was quite pleased with myself making it through the party and the rest of the day. Lucky the boy's Mum brought out heaps of party food like sausage rolls, party pies, spring rolls, meat balls and cheerios to soak up all the alcohol from the night before. (Had a good time though.)

We saw a band called "The Masters of Rock". A cover band who dressed up and acted like the real thing (sounded nearly as good as the real thing) and sang songs from Led Zepplin, The Doors, Deep Purple, Guns'n'Roses and AC/DC. It was really, really good.

The stand out hit from the R&B Classics radio channel on the TV while I was doing the housework today was Gladys Knight & The Pips "Midnight Train to Georgia".

Having the day to myself also means being in charge of the remote control and catching up on programs I've recorded. As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I'm a huge fan of the UK Masterchef show so that's what I caught up on. I can't believe how emotional I get. I was crying my eyes out when they announced the winner of the semi final. Whether it's the long, drawn out announcement of the winner or the dramatic music, but I just love it. Two of the chefs had to do a stint at a Michelin starred restaurant and it was "The Kitchin", Tom Kitchin's restaurant in Scotland.  Absolutely amazing food.

I thought I'd share a spoof of the Masterchef show that has been doing the rounds. If you're familiar with the show, it's good for a laugh.

  1. Ha! I hate those hangovers. I am so over partying. Every once in a while though...

  2. I know Megan. Partying is so over-rated! LOL Hubby and I both had a nap in the afternoon and didn't even really feel like going. Would've rathered a cup of coffee and our regular movie night with the kids. I think our partying days are over (well, like we did on Saturday night is). LOL
