I’ve always got a stash of cardboard boxes lying around. They come in handy for so many things. I wrap them in pretty paper and use them as handy drawer organisers, organising my stationery or keeping the food that I bought in them. I don’t own a lot of plasticware rather opting to keep the food in the box and securing the contents with a peg. They also come in handy for wrapping ‘hard to wrap’ presents. It’s a great way to recycle cardboard boxes for wrapping gifts.
I don’t keep every box I collect but if I’ve got a birthday or Christmas coming up, I’ll hang onto them and use them to wrap hard to wrap gifts. They can be cereal boxes, cookie boxes or boxes that appliances come in.
It’s my daughter’s birthday coming up and those small toys always poke through the wrapping paper. Popping them in a box is perfect. The other good thing about recycling these old boxes is that you don’t have to waste your money on those gift boxes from the store. You can reuse them still after the gift has been opened.
If it’s a soft toy, just pop it in the box and wrap.
You can pop these small toys in a plastic bag if you like but it’s not really necessary.
The only other things you’ll need are gift wrap, sticky tape and scissors.
Then wrap the boxes.
I added white yarn and a tissue paper flower to the top to finish it off.
My daughter won’t have a clue what’s inside the boxes. I can’t wait to see her face. I’ll be hanging onto these boxes because Christmas is just around the corner.
Great idea Anne! Good on you for not having the plastic….sounds like we are on a mission!
Baby steps hey Dzintra. Hubby and I were talking about it on the weekend and wonder how what we do can make an impact. I guess we can all but try.

These look awesome. Although I have such a collection of bags, I’d probably never ever need a box again!

Same here Sally. I keep those gift bags that people give me too. A great item to recycle.
