It’s my daughter’s 7th birthday and the usual cupcakes for school so instead of the usual icing and sprinkles, I decided on creating Rainbow Fish Cupcakes. It’s dead easy and a fun way to decorate cupcakes for all ages.
What you’ll need
- Cupcakes (Note: I don’t use cupcake papers for school – it’s one less thing they have to worry about and I also use the mini muffin pan)
- Quantity of icing/frosting
- Smarties or M&M’s
- Xtreme Sour Straps (cut into triangle pieces)
- Black icing writing pen
Method:
- Ice cupcakes.
- Arrange Smarties/M&M’s on one half of the cupcake, vertically.
- Place piece of sour strap on back of cupcake for fish tail.
- Using icing writing pen, mark spot for an eye.
These cupcakes would make a great addition for an underwater themed party. For a different effect, match coloured icing with colour of Smartie/M&M, ie all pink, green, yellow etc.
Ahhh very good 🙂
I'm your daughter is princess of the classroom today with such a clever mum
So cute! Have you ever read the book The Rainbow Fish by Mark Pfister? That's what these cupcakes remind me of!
You are seriously one creative chicky. I love these and I bet your daughter and her friends did too! xx
