Okay, so this one is just naughty and so easy. Who doesn’t love Banana Splits? I think it was one of the first things I learnt to ‘cook’ from my ‘cooking for kids’ type cookbook and it is a great ‘no cook’ recipe for the kids to do. Here’s how to make a banana split + 12 variations.

You can use any type of chocolate or other flavoured sauce on top but I found a peanut toffee chocolate which I just melted and added a bit of cream to and it was delicious. (My excuse is I’ve been sick all week so this is my reward.)

I may or may not have the addition of canned whipped cream in my banana split (ok, so it is canned whipped cream). I bought it for the kids to have some fun with decorating cakes and pikelets.

This is just what’s leftover and honestly, it’s the first time I’ve ever bought it in my life. Tastes like whipped cream. It’s just a matter of slicing a banana open, scooping ice cream and whipped cream on top, pouring on the sauce and adding chopped nuts, if desired and/or a cherry on top, which I didn’t have. Check out these other really cute interpretations.
