That got your attention I bet? No, its not what you think it is. Rather a new cookbook by the highly successful Kim McCosker (of “4 Ingredients” fame), or “Mrs Turnbull” her married name, just in time for Valentine’s Day. A cookbook full of sumptuous and enticing recipes.
So what am I doing with a book like this? There’s no love interest in my life, at the moment, but I’m finally getting up enough courage to start looking. Nothing serious at this stage but a date would be nice. I used to love planning dinner parties for boyfriends in my younger days and I reckon some of the dishes on offer in Kim’s new book would’ve gone down a treat.
“4 Play” serves over 80 recipes, playfully written, with a purpose. Whether you want to seduce your lover, reintroduce some sparkle into your long-term relationship or marriage, flick the passion switch on, enjoying the food and suggestions within.
Mrs Turnbull has tastefully brought together a collection of ideas and delicious meals that will be the starter for releasing your inhibitions, to free your mind and savour the flavours of lovingly, homemade delicacies from aphroodisiac lore.
Each “4 Play” page oozes mood and mouth watering images. Be charmed by the secrets of Sexting, ‘Foods that belong in Bed’ and whet your appetite with the “The 4Play Pantry”. Enjoy the ease of recipes from Finger Foods, Lick Me – I’m Delicious, Cocktails, rendezvous for 2, a Sweet Soiree and The Morning After. And to complete an evening of romance, use the playlist of soft, sexy and sultry songs to reignite the flame over a classic dinner for two.

Hi Anne, I would love to win this just because of the title. But we have a holiday in NZ on the 6th so I would not be able to respond in two days. BUT – wow you are a brave person putting yourself back out there. I have told my husband and kids lots of times that this is it. If he dies (or other) I am never getting married again. I enjoy controlling everything to much and would not step again into the world of compromise. Love him dearly but would not choose to find another. Shocked his auntie by saying that I might look for a lover only… considering my faith they all had a good laugh at that one!!!
Oysters Kilpatrick light my flame
With their lovely taste, I can't be blamed!
And desserts with chocolate are divine
I share them with my Valentine!! 🙂
Mangoes, Avocado, Prawns……these are my favourite foods.
Certainly lots of '4Play' here Anne! What ignites my fire in the kitchen….I can't think of one thing but lovely fresh foods after we come back from the Farmer's Markets hits the spot!
Good on you for starting to get back out there…All the best to you with it all…HAVE FUN!
Oh Anne … good on you for choosing to open yourself up to opportunity for a new relationship. It is such a huge & positive step. Have fun with it & know that anyone who enters your life is very lucky to be there!
'4 Play' sounds awesome! I could use a little injection of romance back into our house! Little children (bless them!) are the best mood killer EVER – particularly when they are fussy eaters too! You spend so much time saying, "just eat your dinner", you are too exhausted to enjoy your own!! haha! Lucky they are so cute & lovable!!! 😉
Being the foodie that I am, there are so many choices for igniting my fire – but I would have to say the combination of fresh raspberries & chocolate does it for me – sweet, tart & just a little bit sexy!!
Woot go yummy Mummy get back out there xo
My kitchen siren is released when ever I'm making anything creamy, silky and delicious!
Any food will float my boat, so long as it's prepared by another goat.
Cook for me, clean for me that will get you laid.
Hubby are you hearing this? Don't leave me dismayed!
Happy Valentine's Anne xo
Chocolate – creamy and dreamy. Chocolate melted & warm & ever so tasty. Oh my!!

A glass of red followed by a slippery oyster and dark chocolate fondue will set my heart on fire and give my partner what he desires.
A delicious rich chocolate mud cake with cream…Oh dear, I need to take a shower just thinking of it.
Prawns fresh from the local co-op! Cooked with chilli and garlic and a little olive oil or just freshly peeled on a bed of lettuce and mayo (yes, old fashioned..but hey the '70's were great!). Failing that? Prawns..freshly peeled..only a kilo? Noooo!
Wow what a great book! I think a decadent chocolate pudding with vanilla bean cream is the ticket- mmm
