DIY authentic Santa sacks

I saw this idea on Pinterest and as per the usual projects I pin, it just got forgotten about. Put there ‘just in case’ I get time or actually remember it. These DIY authentic Santa Sacks are so easy to make.

HOW TO MAKE

I remember buying some plain hessian (burlap) sacks a couple months ago to cover some outdoor chair cushions but I managed to buy replacement cushions on ebay. Then thought I’d make burlap cushions to use on the outdoor cushions. For about 5 seconds I pictured my kids using them for footballs or throwing them into neighbour’s yards. (Is it time for them to move out yet?)

When I saw these on Pinterest I knew I had a use for the sacks. Using my ever faithful Sharpie and stencils, I just adapted the words to suit myself. Nothing fancy. Not sure how its going to go down with the kids. To me, it looks kind of authentic like its come straight off Santa’s sleigh instead of the ones we usually put out, those felt ones with pictures of Santa or candy canes.

I still haven’t wrapped one single present 3 days out from Christmas. I did have planned to get it all done earlier this week but you know what happens to well laid plans? I’m hoping for a couple free hours this evening to get it all done. Trouble is, by the time the kids have gone to sleep, I’m about 3 steps behind them. Its been so humid and muggy here and I’ve been so busy with so much ‘stuff’ I’m just exhausted in the evening.

I hope the kids like them.
