A 10 minute DIY pedicure at home? What a treat! Our poor old feet cop such punishment and sometimes it’s just too hard to find the time to make it to the mall to have someone do it for you. Or to come up with the $30 to $50 to pay someone to do it.
I have to admit that I love to treat myself every couple of weeks with a pedicure at those salons, especially in summer. Heaven knows, my poor old feet need it.
It also makes me feel a little bit relaxed, I have bit of time to myself and my feet are feeling fresh and polished. Trouble is, at around $30 a pop it can soon add up, especially during the warmer months. With the help of some wonderful products on the market and what you’ve probably already got at home, you can have a DIY pedicure at home in around 10 minutes.
I hate to have to show you poor old feet but this is what happens when you get busy and as the weather cools down here in the southern hemisphere, I haven’t had the need to wear summer flip flops and sandals instead covering my feet with closed in shoes.
I always love having my nails painted summer or winter so this is quite disgusting for me. Instead of forking out $30, I came up with a 10 minute DIY pedicure you can do in the privacy of your own home. (I always feel sorry for the poor girls that get to work on my feet at the salon!)

Supplies for a 10 Minute DIY Pedicure

What you’ll need:
  • a tub or foot spa
  • warm water
  • bath salts, body wash or even a squirt of dishwashing detergent
  • moisturising lotion
  • manicure kit (eg nail file, nail clippers, cuticle stick etc)
  • nail brush
  • nail polish
  • Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi
  • Eulactol Heel Balm Gold
Remove old nail polish, trim your nails and soak in a warm tub of water with bath crystals, for example, for approximately 2 minutes.

Dry off your feet and, using a cuticle stick, push down the cuticles.

File the edges of your nails and apply moisturiser to the top of your feet, in and around your toes and the lower part of your leg.
Using the battery operated Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi, gently rub over your cracked heels and around any other dry skin areas.
The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi, with long lasting micro-abrasive particles comes with finely ground diamond crystals and naturally precious exfoliators. It buffs away hard skin in an instant leaving you with effortlessly beautiful smooth feet.
It’s so easy to use. Gently rotate the file over the hard skin and see the dead skin disappear.
Apply Eulactol Heel Balm Gold to dry areas of your feet. You will see visible results in just 3 days by applying morning and night.
Apply polish and you’re done! As the tan on my sun kissed feet starts to fade over the next couple of cooler months, I’ll keep doing my DIY pedicures at home, keeping my heels nice and moist, all in readiness for Spring.
There may not be any real physical change (except for the newly painted nails) but my feet feel soft, moist and revitalised and all the dead skin has gone.
I’ll keep applying the Heel Balm and check the results in 2 days time. I’m sure I can find 10 minutes every couple of weeks to keep on top of my poor old feet.
Disclaimer: I was given a Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi and a tube of Eulactol Heel Balm Gold. All thoughts, opinions and photos are my own.
