domesblissity start here

Hello and welcome to Domesblissity.com

Domesblissity.com is your one-stop-shop for everything relating to home and living. What started out as a place to keep my recipes in one place for the children, if and when they leave home, has become an extension of my home and how we live every day.

I’m Anne Murphy, the creator and founder of Domesblissity.com. Back in 2011, I was reading a lot of blogs and decided to create my own place to store recipes, frugal tips, crafts and stories about family life. Somewhere along the way, I realised that Domesblissity.com is exactly what goes on in my home, day in, day out. I wanted to share our frugal way of life with the world and show everyone that you too can have a very rich life by making do, cooking from scratch, keeping house and DIYing all those things people usually buy from the store. I’m a lover of all things vintage including the way our grandmothers kept house but with all the modern conveniences available to us now, it’s been made a lot easier. Let me show you how.

Recipes

If you’re looking for recipes, there are a couple ways to find them here. You can type directly into the search bar at the right of the page and type in what you’re looking for. For example, if you’re looking for ways to use say cauliflower, type cauliflower into the search bar and press ‘enter’. Any recipes I have that I’ve used cauliflower in will be displayed.

Alternatively, you can click on the Recipes tab above and you’ll find the different categories of recipes I have. Please note, here in Australia, we call the dish after our main meal a dessert. Everything else like cookies, cakes, no bake, bars, pastry and everything else will be in the Baking category.

Another way to find a recipe is to point your mouse to the Recipes tab in the bar above and the different categories will be displayed. You will also find separate categories in the Baking category by keeping your mouse pointed on the word Baking.

Shop

I have a shop where I am beginning to sell different products relating to my H.O.M.E. Program (Homemaking, Organising, Making-Do Education). They will be available in due course.

DIY

Before I ever think about buying something, whether it be for the home or my family, I’ll try to work out a way to do it myself. I’ve crafted and sewed all of my life and am only starting to renovate my home on a budget, doing projects ourselves as we go. In the DIY category above you’ll find projects relating to the various seasons like Christmas and Easter, school, the home, my (2nd) wedding which was on a budget of $5,000. Point your mouse to the DIY tab and you’ll see all the different categories available.

SINCE

H.O.M.E. Program

At the start of 2016, I created the H.O.M.E. Program (Homemaking, Organising, Making-Do Education). I’m in the process of creating a course on how to be a better homemaker covering all of these subjects. In this category you’ll find different categories for homemaking, organising and making-do. Here you’ll find everything I do to save money, be better organised and how to make do. I will continue to update this category as more information is created so stay tuned.

Tips/Hints

Whenever I’ve got an idea to use up things around the home like vintage linen or what to make out of plastic cutlery, I’ve scoured the internet for ideas and stored them in the Tips/Hints category. This has been a wealth of information for me when I’ve wanted to DIY a project. Point your mouse to the Tips/Hints category in the bar above and you’ll also see tips just relating to food. Here’ll you’ll find many tips about food to cook from scratch and how to save money on food etc.

Family

In the Family category you’ll find stories about parenting, relationships and other family related information. I’m continuously adding to this category because my children are growing and each day brings a new challenge. There’s also stories of my new relationship and how that all unfolded. I’m certainly no expert on parenting but I like to share what works for me, sometimes.

Blogging

In January 2017, I’ll have been blogging for 6 years and I’m certainly no expert nor extremely successful but I like to share the successes and wins I have had and you will find blogging related posts and how to’s in this category.

Thriving on Thursdays Linky Party

Although there is no category for this, I have been running a ‘linky party‘ here at Domesblissity since January 2012 and I have made a lot of friends from all of the world. Every Thursday, other bloggers link up their recipes, projects, crafts, tips, advice and everything related to thrifty living. The following week I feature 3 food related posts and 3 non food related posts. It’s a great way to get inspiration and create new friendships. Even if you’re not a blogger, you’re welcome to attend the ‘party’ and see what everyone has been up to. There are so many talented people in the world who inspire me every day.

Tea Party, Tea, Black And White, Teapot, Drink, Vintage

Thank you for joining me here. I want you to feel at home. If I could, I would offer you a cup of tea or coffee and a sweet treat. My door is always open for company whether it’s in real life or in the virtual world. If you ever feel like dropping me a line, asking me a question or just to say ‘hi’, please do. You’re always welcome!
