LET ME HELP

Well, I want you to know, I’m here to help. I’m an older, married Mum of 2 children, a boy and a girl and by having good teachers in my grandmothers and mother, I have learnt how to live a rich life by cutting back where I need to. I love my home and the people in it and feel in control of my life. I have enough money for the finer things in life while still being on top of the necessities. You can read more about me here and how I got to where I am today.

I cook with love and even though I’m not formally trained, I am an accomplished home cook but cook the food my family will eat.

The recipe has to be quick. It has to be easy. It has to be cheap to create and most importantly, it has to be loved by my family. My oldest, my daughter, has given me grief since she was 2 years old in that she has been the pickiest eater I have ever heard of. That’s a whole other story too and you may be able to relate if you’ve got a picky eater in your house.

Let me share with you and teach you how you can have this lifestyle as well. It’s not hard. I want to bring old fashioned homemaking into the 21st century. We really are spoilt compared to our grandparents and have it pretty easy. Let me help you have an easier, well organised life for you and your family.

Shop Smart, Eat Well

I came to realise that the way I’d been taught to grocery shop and cook was something that not everyone was doing and yet there are people still struggling to make ends meet and not be able to afford to put food on the table. My fortnightly grocery shop is $150 and we eat extremely well.

This isn’t anything new. It’s the way my mother and grandmothers shopped and saved. I created the Shop Smart, Eat Well Program to teach people exactly how to do it. It’s not difficult. In fact, I find it the easiest way to save money on household expenses so I have more money for other things.

The Domesblissity Shop

I have curated products from around the world to help the homemaker make their jobs easier plus a few other items to spoil yourself and for arty, crafty people. You can find out what’s in store by clicking here.

H.O.M.E.

Domesblissity is a “place to call H.O.M.E.”  H.O.M.E. is an acronym for Homemaking“, “Organising and Making-Do Education. It’s what I do here at home. It’s how I live day to day, how I keep house, how I raise my family and it’s what I want to teach you. I have handy hints on housework and how to save on school expenses plus much, much more.

RECIPES

Domesblissity is a place to come when you need a recipe. All of my recipes are tried, true and tested by me. They are what I feed my family and many of them have been handed down to me by my grandmother and mother. They use fresh, seasonal ingredients and basic pantry items. I show you how you can create easy meals from basic ingredients that the whole family will love. You’ll find recipes for baking, homemade candy, breakfast options, lunches and dinners, desserts (as in the sweet course you have after your main meal – all my baking recipes are under the “Baking” category), one pot meals, slow cooker meals, pasta and rice dishes, salads and vegetables, soups and plenty of make from scratch recipes.

I have put together some instantly downloadable cookbooks that list the basic ingredients required plus the recipes. This shows you at a glance what you need to stock so you can create easy, tasty but basic recipes the whole family will love.

TIPS & HINTS

I have shared many tips to use common items from around the home for organising, home décor, old tablecloths and other things that might normally be thrown away.

CRAFT

It’s a place to come when you need craft ideas. Way before I started this blog, I was forever crafting with my children, especially my daughter. I learnt to sew, crochet and knit from my mother before I was 10 and it’s a passion that has stayed with me all my life. I mainly sew home décor now or the odd bit of mending but I would love to do more creative sewing once my children are a bit older.

DIY

It’s a place to come when you need ideas on any DIY projects for the home. I like to make do, reuse and recycle before I buy anything new for my home and if I do buy it, it’s second hand first. Since having the children, I’ve been busy creating food, costume and crafts for Easter, Halloween, Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, and planning birthday parties with various themes. You’ll find plenty of inspiration here at Domesblissity that won’t cost you the earth.

BLOGGING

Because I’ve been blogging for 11 years now, I share some of the ways I do things and my blogging journey. In January 2017, I turned my blog into a business and am taking everything I know out on the road.  You can read about some of my blogging journey in these posts. In March 2019, I also started my own blog coaching business as The Blog Coach and you can find out more about that here.

FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS

I’ve shared family vacations, the same struggles I have with parenting and how I get through them plus relationship stories from my past and present. Plus my DIY vintage/rock’n’roll themed wedding for $5,000 and all the other wedding related news is here on Domesblissity.com.

You can read more about my personal story here.
