Here’s how I combined a girl’s and boy’s Jake & The Neverland Pirates Birthday party.
Yesterday was the combined 7th birthday for my daughter and 5th birthday for my son and it was a Jake & the Neverland Pirate party (or Pirate Party for short). My kids love watching Jake and Izzy and that’s the theme they decided. It’s easy enough to find pirate paraphernalia on the Internet and in the shops but nothing much associated with Jake as yet.
Here’s a photo dump for now and I’ll be back during the week for a complete run down of the cake, games, party bags, food etc and will link back to this post.
Pirate flag mounted on the play fort
Toucan too!
‘Jake’ ripping into his presents
At least ‘Izzy’ takes the time to read the cards!
Recycled paper Pirate bunting
Blowing out candles
Sailing the high seas jelly cups (ignore Christmas tray they’re on)
Defeated in battle – Mummy had just got him with a water bomb balloon
Pirate loot bags to hold their treasure
The treasure map
Aunty Lily (the Pied Pirate) – the kids were after her treasure box
I tell you. Having a combined birthday party meant only having to do this once in the month, not twice, like in year’s previous but there’s still the same stress etc when everyone arrives. You know those lovely planned party photos you see on blogs? Well, you’re not going to see them here. I’m lucky one of the Mum’s offered to take some pictures for me, otherwise I would’ve had nothing. My sister, who was supposed to be organising games, was late so there was a bit of a panic there for a moment. Everyone pitched in, especially my (now ex) husband, which was great. Details to follow.?
FABULOUS!
Looks like your beautiful kids had a party to remember! I'm glad to see the bunting worked out and the jelly cups looks fantastic (might be borrowing that for Olive's).

I made a very similar cake for one of my boys a few years ago. Was it a Womans Weekly wonder?
