10 minute DIY pedicure at home

I have to admit that I love to treat myself every couple of weeks with a pedicure at those salons in the shopping centres, especially in summer. Heaven knows, my poor old feet need it. It also makes me feel a little bit relaxed, I have bit of time to myself and my feet are feeling fresh and polished. Trouble is, at around $30 a pop it can soon add up, especially during the warmer months. With the help of some wonderful products on the market and what you’ve probably already got at home, you can have a DIY pedicure at home in around 10 minutes.

I hate to have to show you poor old feet but this is what happens when you get busy and as the weather cools down here in the southern hemisphere, I haven’t had the need to wear summer flip flops and sandals instead covering my feet with closed in shoes. I always love having my nails painted summer or winter so this is quite disgusting for me. Instead of forking out $30, I came up with a 10 minute DIY pedicure you can do in the privacy of your own home. (I always feel sorry for the poor girls that get to work on my feet at the salon!)
What you’ll need:
  • a tub or foot spa
  • warm water
  • bath salts, body wash or even a squirt of dishwashing detergent
  • moisturing lotion
  • manicure kit (eg nail file, nail clippers, cuticle stick etc)
  • nail brush
  • nail polish
  • Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi
  • Eulactol Heel Balm Gold
Remove old nail polish, trim your nails and soak in a warm tub of water with bath crystals, for example, for approximately 2 minutes.

Dry off your feet and, using a cuticle stick, push down the cuticles.

File the edges of your nails and apply moisturiser to the top of your feet, in and around your toes and the lower part of your leg.

Using the battery operated Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi, gently rub over your cracked heels and around any other dry skin areas.
The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi, with long lasting micro-abrasive particles comes with finely ground diamond crystals and naturally precious exfoliators. It buffs

away hard skin in an instant leaving you with effortlessly beautiful smooth feet. It’s so easy to use. Gently rotate the file over the hard skin and see the dead skin disappear.

Apply Eulactol Heel Balm Gold to dry areas of your feet. You will see visible results in just 3 days by applying morning and night.
Apply polish and you’re done! As the tan on my sun kissed feet starts to fade over the next couple of cooler months, I’ll keep doing my DIY pedicures at home, keeping my heels nice and moist, all in readiness for Spring.
There may not be any real physical change (except for the newly painted nails) but my feet feel soft, moist and revitalised and all the dead skin has gone. I’ll keep applying the Heel Balm and check the results in 2 days time. I’m sure I can find 10 minutes every couple of weeks to keep on top of my poor old feet.
The wonderful people at Scholl are giving you the opportunity to win yourself your own Velvet Smooth Express Pedi and a tube of Eulactol Heel Balm Gold. To enter, just tell me in the comments field below, how you look after your feet AND don’t forget to leave your email address with your response or I won’t be able to contact you.

I usually use an exfoliate my feet in the shower on a weekly basis. When I want to pamper myself a little, I like to use a foot soak. Then I push my cuticles back and use a cuticle oil. That stuff is my holy grail for my nails in general. It's so great! It leaves my nails feeling soft and when the air is dry, it gives them much needed moisture. I like to paint my nails and don't forget to paint the free edge! It helps your pedicure last a little longer. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for your post on how you care for your feet! I would love to win the Velvet Express Pedi and Heel Balm! I tend to get calluses on the bottoms of my feet. I'm a college student and calluses definitely do not help when I'm walking all day between classes. In fact, I'm pretty sure all that walking is what causes them! Those two together would be a god sent on my feet! Have a great day! hfrasier14@gmail.com

Great review! The Scholl Smooth Express Pedi sounds wonderful. In winter my poor feet do just as much work as in summer but unfortunately they do tend to be more neglected! Out of sight, out of mind! This prize could rectify that!

When we holiday in Bali, we always ended our day with a foot massage. I usually get the pedicure as well. So when at home in Aus, I do a similar pedi as you described, and my feet look so much better, The Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi would certainly give me a more professional pedicure but I still miss the massage from those lovely Balinese ladies. ๐Ÿ™‚ di@suntap.com.au

The best way to look after your feet is to wear brilliant shoes that put the emphasis of comfort over everything.

In winter I find that by lavishing my feet with a suitable moisturiser & wearing lovely warm socks that provide the heat that helps with the penetration. Comfort and warmth and softer feet without too much effort.

I pester my partner to give me a foot massage at least once per week. On go the socks afterward to soak up all the goodness from the moisturizer. I return the favour of course :). Coming into winter our cheap vitamin E cream just isn't working as well.

My feet look so tragic right now. They need a good looking after, but because i've ben wearing boots constantly, I just haven't looked at them.
I'm fanatically about cleaning my feet though, especially my toes. I don't like having dirty toes.

I scrub my cracked heels at least once a week; but I use heel balm every day to keep them most and to avoid further cracking.

I have to smooth them everyday as they crack so bad if I don't I find it very hard to walk on them the next day so it would be great to p[possibly win a tool that could ease the pain of cracked ugly heels

With two little kids i don't get any special time to take care of my feet . I simply scrub my feet with a pumice stone while taking bath and massage with lotion after drying them. Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi plus & Eulactol Heel Balm Gold would be perfect to add to my routine this winter..

Knowing my feet have got to last a lifetime (and I hope that's going to be a long time) I treat them with care and respect. I don't wear crazy high heels, I buy shoes that fit comfortably and wear supportive shoes for exercise. A regular pedicure is my treat – it should really be covered by health insurance but as its not I alternate between home and salon to keep the costs from spiralling. And as you may have guessed by my tag – I love bronze nail varnish.

Truth is I don't look after them. For Mother's Day I usually get a manicure and pedicure voucher but this year it was a Bunnings voucher, so that's 24 months of neglect to deal with……LOL

I look after my feet with weekly moisturising treatments, ensuring I also don't have shoes too tight as this is the leading cause of foot damage! I would just love mum to have this pack to transform her feet to be beautiful too, so she can ooze confidence.
